Players Raise Funding for Chris Reed Foundation Education Awards

BAY AREA HOUSTON, TX – May 6, 2021 – Fans of the Chris Reed Foundation gathered for a beautiful afternoon golf tournament to play on the fairway and enjoy the 19th hole. The purpose of this fundraising event, a first for the foundation, was to obtain funding for Bay Area Houston students who are graduating this year. The foundation annually presents $2,000 Celtic Tiger awards, which are stipends provided to seniors who need support attending college or vocational schools.

Topping off the leader-board were the amazing sponsors who made these awards possible. “We appreciate the giving spirit from these companies who made the event such a fun and worthwhile experience, said Susan Bailey, Chris Reed Foundation board member and tournament chairperson.

“We greatly appreciate the generosity of our top sponsors, which included the Crew Law Firm, ISB Capital, AMOCO Federal Credit Union, Chemical Process and Production and All American Orthopedics,” stated Susan. “Additional valued sponsors included the Kemah Peace Officers Association, Cat Scratch Kitchen, Merlion, Chapman’s Front End and Brakes, T-Bone Tom’s, and Gulf Coast Wealth Management, along with a personal contribution by Colene and Carl Joiner.”

With over a dozen six-person teams vying for the first-place trophy at Top Golf, the Chris Reed Foundation raised nearly $30,000. These funds support socioeconomically challenged youth who have overcome adversity while still achieving their high school education.

“We are pleased with the results of this great outreach event and look forward to making it an annual tradition,” concluded Bailey.
